The Nicosia Chess Club is organizing the first Nicosia Official Chess Championship 2007. All of the games will take place at the Nicosia Chess Club, PA.SY.D.Y building 4th floor.

1. Game Schedule The game schedule is as follows:

2. Time Control The Swiss System will be applied in the championship and the time control will be 80 minutes for every player and additionally 20 seconds increment for every move. All FIDE regulations will be applied as well and all the players will be obliged to note their moves. The tournament will be rated and the results of all the games will be used for the readjustment of the Cyprus Chess Federation E.L.O.

3. No Show on games The organizers have the right to withdrawn any player who misses more than 1 match. In case of more than 1 hour delay of a player it will be counted as a loss.

4. Organizers The organizers of the tournament and the people responsible are Vrahimis Boulos and Michalis Filippou on behalf of the Nicosia Chess Club.

5. Tiebreakers In case two or more players score the same points the following criteria will be applied to determine their final position A: Bucholtz B: Median Bucholtz C: Progressive Score D: Number of Wins E: ELO

6. Arbiter The arbiter of all the games is Mr. Doksakis Komitis.

7. Entry Fee The entry fee is as follows: A: Candidate Master Level and above- FREE B: Any other player ₤5 CYP

The maximum numbers of players that can take part in the tournament is forty (40). For this reason, any player interested in taking part in the tournament should register the soonest possible.
